Experience. Integrity. Dedication.
The story behind the law firm of Arthur F. Licata, P.C. is one of experience, integrity, and dedication. Mr. Licata has been practicing law in the field of complex personal injury litigation for more than 30 years. He has helped thousands of people, in the Boston area and throughout New England. He works to obtain compensation for civil wrongs that have been done to his clients and the losses they have suffered.
Drunk Driving and Liquor Liability Law
Attorney Arthur Licata has developed a concentration of his trial experience by handling cases involving the complex area of liquor liability as it applies to drunk driving, underage drinking, overserving or careless serving of alcohol to both minors and adults. Attorney Licata's skill in these matters is demonstrated by his victory in the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Landmark Court Ruling
Tobin v. Norwood Country Club, Inc., 422 Mass. 126 (1996). This was the first time the court in Massachusetts had dealt with this question and it became a landmark case throughout the U.S. The Supreme Judicial Court held that bars and restaurants may be held liable for alcohol-related accidents stemming from underage drinking when alcohol is supplied to minors by intermediaries who are adults. It was the first time in which a court held that a bar or restaurant was liable for a minor's intoxication when the minor was not the direct purchaser of the alcohol.
High Standards for Professionalism and Integrity
Mr. Licata adheres to the highest standards of professional excellence and ethical conduct. His unrelenting standards have not gone unnoticed by his peers in the legal community and others.
Attorney Licata's recognitions include:
• An AV Peer Rating* in the Martindale-Hubbell directory
• In 2006 thru 2013, Mr. Licata was one of only 30 Massachusetts personal injury attorneys to receive the Super Lawyer designation from Boston Magazine in the general field of plaintiffs personal injury litigation
• Listed in the 2009 thru 2013 editions of Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World
Unlike many solo practitioners who have neither the experience nor resources to handle complex tort litigation, Mr. Licata has no such limitations. He is able to provide personalized attention and service to every client and to immerse himself in the facts of each case in order to formulate a winning approach. He guarantees clients two extremely important things: he is the attorney they will talk to and he is the attorney who will prepare and present their case.
Attorney Licata routinely takes personal injury cases by referral from general practitioners in Massachusetts and from attorneys throughout New England and the US. He welcomes case referrals from foreign attorneys. Additionally, he serves as an advisor and intermediary to US businesses seeking to establish long-term business relationships with their counterparts in Central Europe, Russia, and the People's Republic of China.
